The airy lilac stems don't bloom very long. However, they are a flower to be admired with delicate elegance—perfect for special occasions, table decorations, or a fleeting moment of pure beauty.

Lilacs have woody stems that prefer a long, diagonal cut with a knife. This allows them to absorb plenty of water, as lilacs need a lot of water. Place the lilac stems in a clean vase filled with water. Add the flower food to the water in the correct proportions.
Ideally, place lilacs in a cool location.
Do not place lilacs next to a fruit bowl, in a draft, or in bright sunlight.
Check regularly to make sure the lilac has enough water and refill if necessary. Ideally, change the water daily. After a few days, cut the stems diagonally again.
